Every year, on September’s second weekend, Castelló d’Empúries travels back through the times, a thousand years back into a world full of magic and mystic.
Daring knights will grab the lance then, saddle their horses and join the joust for their beloved gentlewoman, applauded by the mob. Castelló’s medieval festivals are great fun for the young and young-at-heart.
Re-enactments of medieval jousts are not all there is, no, there also are tasty delicacies, skilled craftsmen, talented musicians and funny imposters on the streets and plazas.
Spectacles in abundance! The town’s inhabitants are dressed in antique costumes and have decorated the streets and plazas according to the festival. Everyone is invited – dare a leap in time and join the Festival Terra de Trobadors in Castello d’Empúries!
